Periodic Table, Atomic Structure, Acids and Bases, Writing Chemical Equations

Periodic Table:
  • Created by Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev in 1869
  • He arranged all known elements in order of their relative atomic masses
  • He also arranged the elements in horizontal rows so that elements with similar properties were in the same vertical column

Mendeleev also left a few blank spaces in the Periodic Table because he predicted that there would definitely be more elements to be discovered in the future, and he was right. More elements, though unnamed, are being discovered slowly. I feel Mendeleev had great foresight as he knew that there would be more elements to be discovered and the number of possible discoveries may never end.
